I started practising Bikram yoga gradually in 2012, since my mother (Ingrid Wahlberg) found it so fun and invigorating. I didn’t practise it that much back then, it was more on and off, but I thought it was a shame that I didn’t have the time to go more often. Bikram yoga is delightfully challenging, and there’s no way you’ll be able to focus on anything other than the movements. It is simply a great and wholesome way of clearing the mind and strengthening the body.

 

I started practising yoga more regularly in 2016, and now I’m hooked. Hot Yoga Uppsala now offers several different yoga types apart from Bikram yoga, such as Fierce Grace and Vinyasa, and it is great fun to be able to practise several different yoga types complementing each other. It is still nice to clear the mind, and above all to achieve the bodily control you get through yoga! I never thought I would be able to do a headstand, but I am nearly there! I just need some more yoga…
