Anahata Yoga class at Hot Yoga Uppsala
The Sanskrit word Chakra literally translates to a wheel or disk. In yoga, meditation, and Ayurveda, this term refers to wheels of energy throughout the body. These wheels of energy correspond to massive nerve centers in the body. Each of the seven main chakras (starting from the base of the spine through to the crown of the head) contains bundles of nerves and major organs as well as our psychological, emotional, and spiritual states of being.
Since everything is moving, it’s essential that our seven main chakras stay open, aligned, and fluid. If there is a blockage, energy cannot flow.
The fourth chakra is at the center of the seven chakras with three below and three above, it’s color is green and the element is air.
We will move through breathing exercises and a flow with heart-opening postures to stretch, strengthen, and expand your shoulders and chest, ending with a meditation.
Be ready to let go of any heavy stuff you are carrying around, come without fear allowing yourself to move through yoga postures that will help you open up your heart and release what doesn’t serve you.
